New procedures for examinations
As part of its validation and moderation procedures, the RSCM has introduced a new records system. We are now required to send an annual return, listing candidates, marks awarded, examiner and venue. We are also required to keep a copy of all mark sheets and to make these available to the RSCM on request.
Examiners should therefore be aware that copies of mark sheets will be retained for at least 5 years and may be read by RSCM staff locally or nationally.
The RSCM has published standardised tests for Bronze and Silver examinations. The RSCM recommends (but does not require) that these tests be used; Bradford Area Committee is arranging for copies of these tests to be sent to its examiners without additional comment (other than to remind examiners that our Bronze syllabus requires rapid learning rather than sight reading).
